I would imagine that he would want to cater to fans (who, last I checked, bought the comics) rather than get stuck in a popularity contest. I can’t speak for DC Comics, but there must be some sort of agenda for these characters. Going so far as to force out a character that Bryan Q. Miller wrote so fantastically for 24 issues in a book that shouldn’t be affected by continuity is ridiculous.
If this happened to a filmed version of Smallville, DC wouldn’t have said a goddamn thing. Look at what’s been done. Look at what is being done for Arrow. Really, what’s the problem here?
